Fabric couches and sofas, cleaned in your lounge room
We clean fabric couches, sofas, lounge suites and recliners right where they sit in your home. There’s no pickup or drop-off, and nothing to carry out to the van.
That includes modular and corner lounges, ottomans, sofa beds and outdoor cushions.

While we’re there, plenty of people get the couch done with the carpets, a rug or a mattress, which saves booking a second visit. Rugs are cleaned on site too, so it’s rug cleaning at your home, the same as the couch.
What fabric couches and sofas can you clean?
Chem-Dry Advantage cleans most fabric couches, sofas, lounge suites and recliners in your home with a low-moisture process, so the fabric isn’t soaked. We don’t clean velvet, suede or anything with a "dry clean only" care tag. For everything else, check the care tag and tell us what it says when you ask for a quote.
How long until you can sit on your couch?
Couches and lounges usually dry within 1–2 hours after a Chem-Dry clean. It depends on the fabric and how soiled the couch was.
Chem-Dry uses far less water than steam cleaning, so your couch isn’t soaked to begin with. After that, airflow does the work. In a warm Mackay summer or the wet season, when the air is heavy, it makes a real difference:
- Open windows and doors if the weather allows.
- Run a ceiling fan, a pedestal fan or the air conditioning.
- Ask before we leave. We’ll tell you when the couch is ready to use.

Will cleaning get rid of couch and sofa smells?

Pet hair, smells and accidents
Often, yes, we can help. A clean lifts the hair, body oils and smells held in the fabric. For urine, Chem-Dry’s P.U.R.T.® (Pet Urine Removal Treatment) goes after the urine crystals that make a smell come back on warm, humid days, instead of masking it. Stains: what usually comes out, and what may not
Coffee, red wine, ink and pet marks often lift out of a fabric couch or sofa, especially when they’re treated early. Some marks are harder. Dye transfer and bleach damage may not come out completely, and we’ll tell you that before we start, not after.
Until we get there:
- Blot with a clean white cloth, working from the outside of the stain in.
- Avoid heavy rubbing, which can spread it.
- Skip strong household products.

Fabric or leather? Two different cleans
Fabric and leather need different cleans. Fabric couches get Chem-Dry’s low-moisture upholstery clean, which lifts dirt, oils and odours from the fibres. Leather lounges get a separate leather clean that removes built-up body oils, dirt and grime and helps restore leather’s natural look.

Upholstery can be part of our end-of-lease clean, along with carpets, rugs, mattresses, and tile and grout. You get a tax receipt for your property manager. Our re-clean guarantee is for end-of-lease cleans only: if the agent isn’t happy with the couch, let us know within 3 days of the clean and we’ll come back and re-clean it for free. Just so you know, it’s not a full bond clean, so the rest of the house is up to you or your bond cleaner.
